Frame grab of peahen vandalizing liquor store

Fighting Cock Has Nothing on this Lady – Peacock Vandal

June 8, 2017Brad LumleyNews, Video

Rani Ghanem got one heck of a surprise a couple days ago while working at his uncle’s liquor store. A customer asked him about chicken being in the store. Only then did Rani realize a peahen (not a peacock as reported), had wandered into the store. Rani called animal control, and it became painfully clear that this bird was not going to go quietly.

Ghanem reported that the damages were likely in excess of $500. A loss to be sure, but maybe┬áhe’s lucky this lady didn’t make her way to the top whiskey shelves!

That peacock is a thug! My biggest question to this video is how did the bird get in the store? Did it teleport or walk through the wall? čśé

From the looks of it, they might’ve had the door propped open. Apparently these beasts roam free in that area.

Seems to me that the peacock was just hanging out and having a nice relaxing afternoon away from whatever it is that peacocks need to get away from when people decided that it wasn’t a paying customer as it was “only looking” and not buying. If you watch the entire “never before seen” video, you will see that the peahen quite calmly walks around a few aisles of the store just like any other shopper and doesn’t cause any damage until the guy with the net starts poking at it. I mean, just what did they expect to happen when a man with a large net waves it around at a non domestic bird of that size, right above a shelf of glass bottles? If anything, the peacock should have been allowed to leave of its own accord as I did not see attempt to shoplift, rob the register, insult the staff or harass the patrons. Typical harassment of those not in a position to “buy.”
